Spring into Action: Refresh Your Home—and Maybe Your Address

**🌸 Spring into Action: Refresh Your Home—and Maybe Your Address 🌸**
By Mollyana Ward, Realtor
Spring isn’t just about cleaning closets and planting flowers—it’s also one of the best times of year to reevaluate your living space and your financial goals. As a Realtor, I always say: if you're already refreshing your home, it might be the perfect moment to consider whether it still fits your lifestyle.
Whether you're dreaming of more space, eyeing a new neighborhood, or simply wondering what your home could sell for in today’s market, now’s a great time to explore your options. And while you're at it, here are three quick spring maintenance tips that help your home show better, live better—and maybe even sell better.
✅ 3 Easy Fixes That Make a Big Difference
**1. Reverse Your Ceiling Fans for Warmer Weather**
Your ceiling fan isn’t just for looks—it can actually help lower your cooling bill, especially as temperatures start to climb.
**What to do:** Flip the switch on the fan base so blades spin **counterclockwise** in spring and summer. This pushes cool air down, making rooms feel more comfortable. Pro tip: dust the blades first to avoid spreading allergens!

**2. Inspect and Repair Window Screens**
Spring breezes? Yes, please. Bugs? Hard pass. If you're planning to open the windows, make sure your screens are in good shape.
**Quick fix:** Patch small holes with a screen repair kit ($5–$7 at most hardware stores). If the frame is bent or broken, a full screen replacement is easy and typically under $20. A little effort goes a long way in boosting your home’s presentation—especially if you're preparing for showings or open houses.
**3. Clean Your Dryer Vent**
A clean dryer vent = lower fire risk, better energy efficiency, and fewer issues during a home inspection (if selling is on your radar).
**Do this seasonally:** Unplug the dryer, detach the vent hose, and vacuum out lint and buildup. Don’t forget to check the exterior vent too.
Thinking About a Move This Spring?
As you're clearing out clutter and planting new roots in the garden, you might find yourself asking if it’s time to plant new roots elsewhere too. Whether you’re curious about what your current home could sell for, want a fresh start in a new space, or you're just exploring your options—let’s talk.
Spring is one of the best times to list, tour, or refinance. I’m here to help you figure out what makes the most sense for you, your family, and your finances.
